Graphit Kropfmühl mines and processes graphite from mines in Germany and Sri Lanka. Graphite is also processed at its production site in China.

Germany

The parent company of the global graphite activities, GK Graphite, is headquartered in Kropfmühl near Passau, Germany. The company was founded here 110 years ago. In Kropfmühl, graphite is mined underground and refined in modern grinding and purification plants. In addition, ready-mixed lubricants in powder form and dispersions are produced. The Kropfmühl site is also home to the group's research and development center.

Sri Lanka (Bogala)

Bogala Graphite Lanka PLC, a subsidiary of GK Graphite in Sri Lanka, has been mining high-purity natural graphite for over 150 years in two underground mines. The vein graphite ore has a unique structure with a high graphite content of up to 99%. This ore is processed on-site for the international market through screening, milling, and the production of graphite dispersions for the Indian and Asian markets. Supported by the technical expertise of our R&D department in Germany, we can offer customized solutions for a wide range of applications.
